plans!

Our plans so far:
We are getting married on September 5th in Port Orford Oregon at the Cape Blanco Lighthouse.
Just Mike and I, the Officiant who will marry us, and our photographers who have agreed to be our Witnesses as well. I was extremely stressed out about finding a photographer, but last week we found a couple in Coos Bay. Their gallery is full of beautiful photos, and after speaking with them i was so happy. They made me feel so much better. Even though it's going to be a tiny wedding, I still want plenty of really good photos from it. We've booked them for 3 hours, so we are probably going to take a bunch of pictures here, and then go over to the beach!

We are staying at the Wildspring guest Habitat. There are 5 cabins, and one spa. The cabin we are staying in is so beautiful, and I really can't wait for this Hot tub.

We ordered this dress, It's really a J crew Bridesmaids dress. I wanted something simple, that i knew would look great on me. My mom and I might add some embellishments if i feel like it needs something more, but we'll see.

Mike is planning on wearing his "sexy jeans" and a white shirt and a grey J crew suit vest, and maybe some brown leather sandals. Super casual, and low stress. I am so excited! We love our families, and are excited to celebrate with them when we arrive home, but we really wanted this day to be our own.

We are planning to leave friday, get to port orford Saturday, and stay there for 2 nights. Then we will drive downt he coast, spending one night in Eureka, two nights in San Francisco, two nights at Mike's Dad's house Near San Luis Obispo, and one in Las Vegas before we head home.
We are even getting a little tour of pixar in San Fran (which is closed to the public, but I know someone :)
Mike's Brother is a General Manager of a Westin Hotel in Texas, so he has gifted us a stay at the Palace hotel in San Francisco.
We haven't made plans in Vegas yet, but the number one thing I want to do is get a shrimp quesadilla at TT's at the Luxor. Last time we were in vegas we must have eaten that for lunch and dinner ever day. It was just SOOO delicious!
When we get home, we are planning a Reception/party at our cabin on September 25th. There is a little community pavilion just outside of our driveway. It is going to be so much fun and i hope everyone can come!

food :)

Is it okAY that my three favorite shows lately have everything to do with food?

YUM!!!
I'm planning road trips around this tv show!
And yesterday when the power went out i was really honestly so bummed that I was missing Rachel Ray :(
If you Haven't Watched "The Best Thing I Ever Ate" on the food channel, you should. It's like, all of the most famous TV chefs talking about the most insane food they ever had at different restaraunts. These guys really know food! I get so hungry every time I watch.

oh anthropologie

I generally avoid anthrpologie at all costs. When I do happen to visit it doesn't usually result in any purchases, only disappointment. I have a hard time justifying ANY piece of clothing over $50, unless it's for a special occasions. I'm cheap I know. Every once in a while I get lucky, and I find a great steal. From now on though, im going to follow their every move. I totally missed out!
I'm pretty sure any dress that perfect for me is worth whatever it would have cost :(
Someday I will be able to afford my favorite store.

I'm so bummed, espescially since I've been looking for the perfect dress to get married in.
I checked out the rest of the merchandise, since I was already on the website. Look at all of the awesome things! I want it all.
These earrings match my engagement ring oh so well.

Wouldn't a new suit, like this one be amazing for our wedding/honeymoon trip?

YES

And this cardigan would look so great over whatever dress I do find.

Our Life

This last month hasn't been the easiest for Mike and I. For reasons I'd rather not disclose we decided we needed a short weekend away, so off to Moab we went. I somehow managed to lose almost all of the photos of the trip in cyberspace, so this is what was left:

It was a fabulous vacation, and although it didn't make everything better, it was a much needed weekend away. Many thanks to mike's mom for watching our doggies.
Speaking of our doggies, this is Whoka {pronounced hookah}.

Whoka was 14 years old! that is one old dog, and let me tell you, he lived all of his 14 years to the fullest. As a puppy he traveled up and down the wolf mountain slopes with mike on a snowmobile when he was employed as a snowmaker there. He was trained as an avalanche dog and did a lot of heli-skiing with Mike back in the day. He also summitted Mt. Shasta, Hayden Peak, Timpanogas, and a whole bunch of others with Mike. He was probably the only dog to ever summit Mt. hood on the route that Mike took.

Needless to say, Whoka was an amazing dog! It was sad to see him deteriorating in his old age. Mike made the decision, and we took him to the vet yesterday, and said goodbye. That was especially hard for Mike.
I'll never really understand the bond he had with that dog. We grew up with so many pets, and they came and went pretty quickly. As a result I probably take the loss of a pet lightly compared to most. Maybe I will understand more fully when we lose Uinta. Technically she is Megan's dog, but we've adopted her. She is such a friendly, happy little dog, and I Love her playful nature. Right now she is shedding like crazy! We vacuum everyday, and you wouldn't believe me if you saw the rug. It is literally covered in blond fluffy tufts of hair.
I've been meaning for a while to post something about our cabin up here in the woods. I am not a great photographer, by any means, so It's really hard to really capture how quaint our little cabin is, but I'll post the photos that I have.

If you look hard you can see Timpanogas at the end of the canyon. This is the view from our deck! It is definitely one of my favorite things about this place. I never thought I would be moving back to Oakley when I so eagerly moved in with Dad at Dodee and Papa's house. As a teenager i always felt stranded, this place was confining. Now that i am back, I appreciate the peace and quiet so much more.

Our Cabin is a little cluttered at the moment. You can see the loft upstairs, the kitchen below it, and part of our living room here. There's also a bathroom there in the corner. Behind where i was standing when I took the photo is the breakfast nook, and the deck. There is a Hole in the floor to the left of the photo, with a ladder that goes down to the bedroom. We love our cozy little cabin!!!!
